Journalism Piece

September 15th, 2007

My partner Louie and I chose a topic that we believed could open minds and encourage people to help others with no constraints of groups or territories. Our goal was not to show how to help or which ngos to help, but bring some light into the subject for those interested in human rights, so they could decide by themselves if they want to do something about it.

That’s why we decided to do a comparison between homeless people in developed countries(like Canada) and in under-development (such as Brazil). The idea was to make the users aware of the main issues that lead different people to this situation, and the possibilities they have (or not) in their respective countries.

If we had a better server, we would like to have a link for a discussion board for people all around the world, but we are going to postpone this idea. From our feedback, we got that we should have the website open for current news, so we subscribed to google news and selected the most interesting recent news about the subject. It is not updated now, but it shows how it would work!
